Virtually Lynne is a Virtual Assistance business dedicated to working with entrepreneurs, solo-preneurs, small business owners and even busy, high-income families.   Having worked with small businesses for the majority of my career, I know how difficult it is for you to get high quality help on a part-time basis.  Additionally, if you don’t have a brick and mortar business, then you don’t have the physical space to house traditional administrative help.  Nor, do you want to take on the expense of an employee.

I was drawn to virtual work 14 years ago when my first son was born.  I knew I wanted to have a great family-work balance and knew that continuing as a director at MetLife was not going to afford me that opportunity.   While on maternity leave, I received a call from a client who was starting her own business.  She wanted me to work for her – but the caveat was I would be a virtual employee for her business located in New Jersey.  This was back in the mid-90s, and so, was a major shift in the way I was used to doing business.  This started what has become a 14-year career working virtually.

During a 10 year stint as a management consultant and benefits outsourcing director at MetLife Insurance Company in the 90s, I became obsessed with improving business efficiency.  It was a great foundation to develop the skills that I’ve come to rely on as a Virtual Assistant.  I’m really jazzed by brainstorming business problems, developing new products and services and managing large projects.  I love to design workflow, document procedures and manage the day-to-day activities that make a business run smoothly.

The virtual world has come a long way in the last 14 years.  I can’t imagine how much more productive that first virtual job would have been if I’d had access to the technology that exists today!
